RAW SALT FEEDING
Salt is sent to the conveyor with a feeder mechanism under raw salt bunker. This conveyor has magnetic separators at discharge point to remove iron particles in salt. The conveyor discharges raw salt into the feed hopper of the wet mill.
SALT WASHING AND MILLING
The wet mill reduces sizes of product and at the same time finds out granular foreign substances found in raw salt crystals. In this process, raw salt is ground with brine. Salt slurry in the wet grinders falls into a slurry tank by gravity. In the slurry tank, more salt water is added to complete the washing step. The solution overflowing from slurry tank goes to a settling basin. Salt slurry is pumped to the washing tanks for main washing.
THICKENING AND CENTRIFUGING
Salt slurry has pumped a thickener before pass centrifuge. The thickener is a dual function tank that provides thickening of salt. Slurry is sent to a centrifuge, and it turns into salt cake.
DRYING
Liquid bed dryer is an internationally accepted option for drying salt cake. It is an integrated system with two sections for heating and cooling product. Hot air is blown into salt bed with aid of the fan to ensure necessary drying of the final product.
SCREENING
With a bucket elevator, dry salt is sent to basket. A dry mill is used for product sizing. The product made smaller by the dry mill is classified by a screening machine.
DOSING
Salt cake in screw conveyors is dosed with iodine and other additives before it is transported to fluid bed dryer.
COMPRESSING
Fine grade salt is sent to rotary tablet machine to become tablet salt. In this machine, salt is compressed.
